How to clean cartilage piercing correctly?!?

I got two cartilage piercings on both ears yesterday with a gun. I asked what to use to clean it and they told me rubbing alcohol. That's not right is it? I'm pretty sure I'm suppose to use sea salt. I have sea salt in my pantry can i use that? If not what salt can I use?

NO ALCOHOL please! It irratates it. I have both mine done too, Ill tell you what I did, cause mine healed perfectly. You can do one of the three, use cotton balls soaked with hot water and sea salt and press against the pericing, and if these a claires next to you, get their cleaning bottle for ears. It worked for me. OR go to shoppers drug mart, or a pharmacy or w.e and get "Biocare Bio septic For peirced ears" . All three would work perfectly. Hope this helped =)

Follow the advice about doing sea salt soaks...just make sure what you have is non-iodized sea salt. Rubbing alcohol is awful for piercings.

And please, if you are going to get pierced again go to a real professional piercer.

This is why you don't get pierced with a gun; the people using them have no clue as to what they're saying.

Sea salt soaks are the best aftercare method. Mix 1/4tsp of it with 1 cup of hot water and submerge each piercing in it for a few minutes, twice daily.
