How do I apply eye shadow or make up for that matter? I am totally clueless!?

I bought a bunch of make up today to finally start making myself more presentable and I realized I dont know how to use half of it lol. I'm 18 and used to just wearing mascara! But today I bought foundation, mascara, liquid and pencil eye liner, and 2 different pallets of eyeshadow. I'm so lost. The foundation fits my skin color and is the easy part but I seem to put the eyeliner on to thick and I don't know how to put eyeshadow in the crease of my eye without it looking smeared and trashy. HELP a girl out?

Foundation is not a must. Only wear it if your skin color is uneven or have some flaws you are trying to hide. If that is the case, use a make-up sponge. I use a wedge shaped sponge so I can get into the corners.
Swipe the lightest shade of eyeshadow all over the lid and under the brow bone. Use a brush not the applicator that comes with it. If you want to then apply the darker shade in a v shape starting from just above the outer corner down towards the corner and towards the crease. You need to blend a lot so it's not just sitting there.
The eyeliner takes practice. The pencil is easier to apply than the the liquid. Try applying little dashes and then connecting them.Good luck

I suggest that you try going to the mall for a make-up consultation. Do not feel bad because I had the same problem. I went to Sephora, which is a big beauty boutique. If there is not a Sephora store located near you, you should try Belk.

I usually end up beginning cheap and trying out tons products. Do what fits your situation and Im sure your instinct will be correct. I like http://BrandsMakeup.com

YouTube is your best friend. MakeupGeek is a pretty good guide :)

Try to put on the eyeliner as thin as possible, as close as possible to your lashline. You should start thin near your nose, and get a little wider as you go outwards.

For eyeshadow, you might need a blending brush. You'll need about 3 different colors (for example, a light blue, blue, and dark blue). You put the darkest color in your crease, but make sure to blend it out! Hope I helped!

Go look at YouTube makeup tutorials. Kandee Johnson and Lauren Luke are both good, some people really like Michelle Phan, makeupgeek is also not bad. Take some time to practice. If you mess up, don't worry. Just wash it off. It's a lot easier than you think, I promise :)

pick one color but in a light and dark shade. the lighter shades go on the inner corners and the darker shade goes on the outer corners. and dont be trashy and put it all the way up to your eye brows.
