Make sure your tattoo artist has the same Hygiene as a doctor. Using fresh needles, washing his hands, wearing gloves. Also you could ask to see his awards, most tattoo artists that are any good at all have won at least a couple awards. If the place is empty it's a good sign that they suck, and you might want to change shops.

depending on your pain everyone is different the needles go into the skin and disperse ink in layers under the skin it is normal to bleed so dont freak out so much and if you have to take a break tell the artist you need one watch it on youtube first.

It only goes into the top layer of your skin call the dermis. depending on where you get them, its said, the different the pain will be. Your skin type, the tattoo and where you are getting it can hurt. Places that will hurt if you have a tattoo there is the wrist, neck, and back of knee. I'm sure there's more, but I would contact that dermatologist first. It's just tiny, tiny tiny, dots that are spritzed out by the needle, but they are so close together that you won't notice. Go on youtube and watch a video of a tattoo being made. You should look into it before you do it. It can be very painful depending on what part of your body you get it on.
