Has there been any cases of tattoos on the back of the neck having more risk?

My mom is nervous that getting a tattoo on the back of my neck because she thinks it can do something to my bone or has more high risks than a tattoo anywhere else. But the back of my neck is the only place I want it and is the perfect place for me. Is there any information someone can give me that a tattoo on the back of my neck doesn't have any additional risks?

It is no more dangerous on your neck than it is on any other part of your body, but it is riskier for your career, depending on what you want to do.

I know multiple people with tattoos situated on different sections of the neck, and frankly, the back of the neck seems the best if you're going to get one there. The skin there should be similar to that on your upper back, which is actually thicker than most other places, which is why if you get a tattoo there like I did, it doesn't very much, if at all. The only reason why my artist hates neck tattoos, is because a lot of the girls that get them can't handle the pain and end up fidgeting/moving away in the middle of getting inked, causing him to either screw up or take forever getting it done. A skilled artist will be able to touch/cover up any strays though. If you're up for staying still (it will totally be worth it) or having to attend multiple sessions depending on size, detail and pain tolerance, go for it.
