Can I take a shower the same day i got a tattoo?

I think it depends on the tattoo, for me, I got a really colorful one that is a pretty big size on my side hip area and my tattoo guy told me not to shower the first night but after that it was ok just not to use really warm water or a washcloth on it because it would make the colors fade. Oh, and not to cover it since it was so colorful, it would make the color seep out of my skin so i had to wear really loose clothes til it healed. But I would call the person that tattooed you just to be sure.

You can take the first shower about two hours after you get tattooed. But don't soak the new tattoo to much in water and try to go easy on it with the shower gel. All shower gels have chemicals and perfumes in them that are not really helping the healing process. Don't worry it's not like you will get infected with something, but using too much gel or rubbing too hard on your tattoo could fade out the colors. You should not take a bath or let the tattoo soak in any kind of water too long, for at least 2 weeks or until the peeling is finished. Seawater can even speed up the healing process a little but again do not soak in it.

yes you should wash it 1 hour after getting the tattoo (a shower is fine), pat it dry and apply cream.
